Getting around in San Francisco, CA

Getting around in San Francisco isn’t considered to be very hard, especially because all the streets are numbered (100 per block), from the beginning of the street. A good thing to keep in mind would be that even and odd numbers are on opposite sides.

One of the most confusing things, while driving in San Francisco, is the multiple grid streets, particularly in the downtown area, where 2 grids intersect at an angle, along Market Street, and the fact that there are no left turns permitted in the city, which often get people frustrated when they have to drive for miles on 19th Avenue or Market Street, without having the possibility to turn left. In order to avoid this kind of frustration, while driving in San Francisco, be sure to drive around the block, making multiple right turns, after passing your desired street, staying on the right lane.

The public transportation service is provided by San Francisco Municipal Railway or Muni, which runs a network of local transportation vehicles, such as the Muni Metro, the Historic Streetcar F Line or the world-famous Cable Cars, which cover most of the areas in the city, with touristic interest.
